A 21-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, distilled in 1993 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 1.189. It comes from a single Bourbon cask, which gave 245 bottles in a 75cl size, released only in the USA.
The label is in the Society's oldest format, which ran from 1983 until 2006.
The nose is melon, mango, kiwi, peach, toffee and crystallised ginger. The mouthfeel is thin, with melon, red apple, peach and apricot, then buttery pastry, cardamom and ginger. The finish is long and sweet, with peaches and a hint of toffee.
