This is a 33 year old Glenfarclas, distilled in 1965 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 1.86, named A Magenta Miracle. It is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 63.6% ABV.
It comes from a single first fill sherry cask, and 222 bottles were produced.
Glenfarclas is one of the oldest distilleries in Speyside and one of the few that still heat their stills with direct fire. Maturation in ex-sherry casks is central to its style, which is rich and suited to long ageing.
