Glenfiddich 15 Years Old is a single malt aged in European oak sherry casks and new oak casks, then mellowed in the distillery's Solera Vat.
The vat is a large oak tun inspired by the sherry bodegas of Spain and Portugal. It is never emptied and has been kept half full of whiskies since 1998. The technique was pioneered by the Malt Master, and gives the whisky warm, spicy flavours.
It was the first 15 year old expression to enter the top ten best selling single malts.
