Glenfiddich – 18 Years Ancient Reserve

Glenfiddich 18 Years Ancient Reserve is a Speyside single malt matured for 18 years in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. Master Distiller Brian Kinsman selected 150 casks for it. The whisky was divided into small batches and left for a further three months in wooden vats to marry. Glenfiddich was built in 1886 by William Grant and his family, and the first whisky was produced at Christmas 1887. The colour is dark gold. The nose is full and round, with delicate, complex oak. The palate shows light sweetness and spice, very ripe and balanced. The finish is long, with a hint of nuts.
