This is a 34 year old single cask Glenfiddich from the Archive Collection, cask number 4555, released for the Australian market. The whisky matured in a refill American oak barrel and was selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman.
Archive Collection casks were laid down long ago and are bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered. Only 118 bottles were released from this cask.
The nose is rich and oily, with stone fruits, toffee and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, with apple, banana and subtle oak and vanilla, and the finish is very long and mouth-coating.
