Glenfiddich – Fire & Cane Experimental Series (70cl, 43%)

Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a Speyside single malt from the Glenfiddich Experimental Series, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon oak casks and then finished in Latin American rum casks. The rum finish adds delicate smoke and a spiced end to the soft, fruity character of Glenfiddich. The smoke is light rather than Islay in style. The nose is sweet and fruity, with caramelised green apple, toffee and a little wood smoke. On the palate come vanilla, baked pears, brown sugar and a touch of cinnamon, with the smoke building gently. The finish is medium to long, with warm spice, toasted oak and a lingering smoky haze.
