Glenfiddich – Grande Couronne 26 Year Old

Glenfiddich Grande Couronne is a 26 year old Speyside single malt. It matured for twenty-six years in American and European oak casks, then received a finish in French Cognac casks. The Cognac finish is described as adding baked apple, apricot, orange and sweet brioche, alongside honey, vanilla and toasted almonds. The nose is ripe orchard fruit, dried apricots and orange zest, with brioche, brown sugar, soft spice and oak. The palate opens with honey, vanilla and ripe peach, then caramelised apple, dried fruit and creamy brioche, with gentle spice and toasted almonds. The finish is long, warm and refined.
