Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment #05 is a Speyside single malt from the Experimental Series. It is matured first in American oak bourbon casks, then finished in Somerset Pomona Spirit Casks, which previously held a blend of apple cider and apple brandy.
The nose offers green apple, ripe pear and citrus, with honey, vanilla, soft blossom and light oak. On the palate there is juicy apple, ripe pear and a little citrus, followed by vanilla, honey and light toffee. The finish is long, fresh and lightly spicy, with lingering apple and pear.
