Glenfiddich – Vat 02 Perpetual Collection Rich & Dark

Glenfiddich Vat 02 Rich & Dark is a Speyside single malt from the Perpetual Collection, with the emphasis on sherry influence, dark fruit and spice. It is matured in American bourbon casks and European Oloroso sherry casks, then combined in a perpetual vat that is never fully emptied, so each batch builds on the last. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, honey and soft caramel, while the sherry casks add raisins, figs, dates and dark chocolate. The nose has dried figs, raisins and orange peel, then dark chocolate, roasted nuts and cinnamon. The palate brings dried fruit, dark caramel and vanilla, followed by chocolate, clove and roasted almonds.
