Glengoyne – 10 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

A ten-year-old Highland single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 40%. It matures in a selection of first-fill sherry casks made from European and American oak, together with bourbon casks and refill casks. The sherry casks were previously filled with Oloroso. The colour comes only from the casks, with nothing added. The distillery dries its barley with air rather than peat smoke and distils slowly. Fresh green apple, toffee and fine nuts sit beside clean malt sweetness and restrained oak, with hints of toffee apple, ginger and shortbread. Malt leads on the palate, with nutty notes and honeyed sweetness, and the long finish leaves clear malt and cereal notes.
