Glengoyne – 18 Years (70cl, 43%)

This is an 18-year-old Highland single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. A generous share of the whisky matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, which were themselves prepared for six years before filling. Glengoyne runs its stills slowly, and the distillery has used only unpeated malt. The nose is full, round and rich, with fruit, marzipan and walnuts, then warm spices, dry cocoa and Seville orange marmalade. The palate brings plenty of sherry, honey and oak with a pleasant cinnamon note. The finish is long, warming and dry.
