Glengoyne 21 Year Old is a Highland single malt bottled at 43%. It was matured only in selected sherry casks, for a minimum of 21 years.
Glengoyne was founded in 1833 and sits on the boundary between the Highlands and Lowlands. The distillery dries its barley with warm air rather than peat, so there is no peat smoke in the spirit.
The nose has red apples, spiced strudel, toffee, sherry and dried fruit. The palate is rich in sherry and honey, with oak and an aromatic quality that develops, closing on cinnamon. The finish is long, sherried, spicy, warm and dry.
