Glengoyne Scottish Oak Wood Finish is a 15 year old single malt, finished in Scottish oak and issued as a limited edition.
The nose is soft, malty and a little peppery, deepening in the glass to light caramel, marshmallow and almond butter, with honeyed, woody notes. The palate starts tight, lean and gently sweet and malty, moving to cocoa, black coffee, oak resin and cake frosting, with toasted almonds and rose also noted.
The finish begins sweet before the oak becomes more dominant.
