Glengoyne – 25 Year Old Bottled 2022 (70cl, 48%)

This is a 25-year-old Glengoyne single malt from the Highlands, bottled in 2022 at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It matured entirely in sherry casks, most of them first fill, and like all of the distillery's whisky it is made from unpeated barley, so there is no smoke. The colour is bright amber. The 25 Year Old joined Glengoyne's core range in 2014. The distillery is known for one of the slowest distillation processes in Scotland. The nose offers red fruits, old leather and brown sugar. On the palate come soft oak, cinnamon, stewed fruits and a Seville marmalade tang, followed by a long, complex finish.
