A 25-year-old Glengoyne single malt, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2016 as a limited release. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and was matured in a first-fill sherry cask. Glengoyne is a Highland distillery in the Campsie Hills, south of Killearn.
The nose is rich with sherried malt, blackberries, dark cherries, orange and blood orange, then jasmine, vanilla, cinnamon and espresso-like coffee. On the palate the sherry is full and fruity, with warming spice, dark berries, cherries and juicy orange, followed by cinnamon, vanilla and coffee. The finish is long and spicy, with orange, dried fruit, cinnamon and vanilla.
