Glengoyne – Cask Strength Batch 008 (59.2%)

Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch 008 is a single malt bottled at 59.2%, the strength at which it left the cask, and it is non-chill-filtered. It is a deep amber colour. The whisky matured in a mix of casks: about a third sherry, two thirds refill casks and a small amount of bourbon. The nose is malty with apple tart, hints of peach, vanilla, nutmeg and white chocolate. The palate is thick and rounded with a peppery tingle, caramel and popcorn, then ripe banana, soft oak and fruit. The finish is rich and lingering, with an oak-infused character.
