Glengoyne – Cask Strength Batch 10 (70cl, 59.5%)

This is Batch 10 of Glengoyne Cask Strength, a Highland single malt bottled at 59.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled without added colour, and the batches differ slightly in flavour. Batch 10 was matured in a combination of first fill sherry casks, first fill ex-bourbon casks and refill casks, giving a sweet, peppery character. The nose combines baked pears, crème brûlée and lemon peel, followed by pepper and mild oak. On the palate, vanilla and fresh fruit meet cinnamon, honey and a gently dry spice, with caramel, ginger and biscuit notes. The finish is very long and sweet, turning slightly dry at the end.
