Glengoyne – Cask Strength Batch 6 (6cl, 59.8%)

This is batch 6 of the Glengoyne Cask Strength series, an official bottling of single malt Scotch at 59.8% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky is typically described as fresh rather than heavily sherried, with no leathery weight from the casks. Golden apples and oranges lead on the nose, joined by juicy sultanas and pecan pie. Water brings out white chocolate, madeleines and almond milk. On the palate there are apples and oranges again, with walnut cake and Golden Grahams. The finish is medium and clean, with pastries and cakes and a touch of leather and rubber in the aftertaste.
