Glengoyne – The Legacy Series Chapter 3 Bottled 2022 (70cl, 48%)

Chapter 3 of the Legacy Series is a Highland single malt bottled by Glengoyne in 2022 at 48%, in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill filtration. It pays tribute to Sir Arthur Tedder, an Exciseman stationed at the distillery over a century ago, who later played a part in the Scotch whisky trials of 1908. The whisky is unpeated and was matured in American oak refill sherry and bourbon casks. The nose combines deep sherry notes with cinnamon sticks, vanilla, mixed berry jam, apple strudel and pear. The palate is rich and chewy, with raisins, spiced buns, tarte tatin and cream sherry. The finish is light and fruity, with pineapple, dried fruit, dark chocolate and lingering spice.
