Glengoyne – White Oak (70cl, 48%)

Glengoyne White Oak is a Highland single malt bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration. It is the first Glengoyne matured only in first-fill bourbon casks and new casks of American white oak, all from North America and charred for less than a minute so the fresh distillery character shows clearly. The idea comes from the geese that winter in the glen by the distillery and fly to North America in summer, a link echoed in the American oak. The nose is lively oak and vanilla cream with light citrus, red apple and ginger. The palate is soft, with crème brûlée, fruit gums, candied lemon, pineapple and creamy coconut. The finish is medium in length, with toasted oak, caramel and a little honey.
