Glenkinchie 12 Year Old is a single malt from the Glenkinchie distillery, marketed as The Edinburgh Malt and sitting about fifteen miles from the city. A distillery was founded on the site in 1825 by brothers John and George Rate under the name Milton, and Glenkinchie was registered in 1837.
The nose is light and aromatic, with barley malt, almonds, hazelnuts and manuka honey or beeswax. The palate is very fruity, with stewed fruits, dessert wine, apple peels and honey, turning oaky late on. The finish is medium in length, with barley and freshly mown grass.
