Glenkinchie 12 Years is a single malt from the Lowlands, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 1825 near the village of Pencaitland, not far from Edinburgh, and the whisky is sometimes called the Malt of Edinburgh.
Part of the maturation takes place in sherry casks, which adds sherry notes alongside floral ones.
The nose is sweet. On the palate it is light, soft and pleasant, with liquorice.
