This 21-year-old single malt from The Glenlivet in Speyside belongs to the Sample Room Collection, the part of the house where cask experiments are carried out. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The whisky was first matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in three kinds of first-fill cask: Oloroso sherry, Tronçais oak cognac and vintage Colheita port. The nose shows caramelised pears and juicy peaches with nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar. The palate has dried apricots, sultanas and chocolate-coated ginger, with spice from the cognac casks and dark berry richness from the port. The finish is long and smooth, with spice, fruit and oak tannins.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
