A special-edition Highland single malt from the Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain, Ross-shire, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Dr Bill created it from his experience of Tokyo and his first experiment with Japanese mizunara oak casks.
It combines whisky part-aged in mizunara oak with whisky aged in ex-sherry and Bourbon casks.
The nose has sandalwood, incense, dried cherries, vanilla and star anise alongside Glenmorangie's tangy orange. The palate is silky, with citrus, marzipan, fennel and toffee apple. The finish is mandarin and toasted almonds.
