This is Milsean, the seventh release in the Glenmorangie Private Edition series and a Highland single malt. The name is Gaelic for 'sweet things' and is pronounced 'mill-shun'. It was finished in ex-Portuguese wine casks and released as a limited distillery exclusive in brightly striped packaging.
The nose recalls Eton mess, cranberry, wine-soaked raisins and strawberry milkshake. On the palate are peppery strawberry, shortbread, red berries, raspberry ripple ice cream and vanillin oak. The finish brings spicy red berries, toasted vanilla and strawberries on shortbread, with subtle peppery, creamy oak.
