This is a 10 year old Glenrothes from Speyside, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2014 by Douglas Laing for its Provenance range. It comes from a single sherry butt and is in a 70cl bottle. Provenance is aimed at drinkers who want a single cask with plenty of flavour but without cask strength, so the whisky is reduced a little. The nose is spicy and sweet, with sticky toffee pudding, molasses, fresh fruit, soft leather and a hint of tobacco. The palate brings warming spice, creamy butterscotch, nutty chocolate and mocha. The finish is sweetly spiced, with star anise and chocolate-coated candied orange peel.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
