Glenrothes – 11 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Discovery (70cl, 43%)

This is an 11 year old Glenrothes from the Discovery series by Gordon & MacPhail, which began in 2018. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The series uses colour-coded spouts to show the style of each whisky, and the purple spout here marks maturation in former sherry casks. The nose offers burnt almonds, raisins, wild berries and sweet milk chocolate. On the palate are milk chocolate, raspberries, blackcurrants, raisins and wood. The finish is medium in length, with dark chocolate and orange.
