A 12 year old Glenrothes single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 by House of McCallum for its Auld Alliance Vintage release. It was matured in a sherry refill cask and finished in Margaux red wine casks, and is a limited bottling at 48.5% ABV.
The nose has butterscotch and apple strudel dusted with vanilla and cinnamon, with a subtle spiciness. The palate is soft, sweet and fruity, with summer fruit, vanilla and caramel, then cinnamon, ginger and oriental spices. The finish is soft and warming, with a little oak, fruity notes and a hint of smoke.
