This is a 25 year old Glenrothes from 1997, a Speyside single malt bottled by Wilson & Morgan at 54.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was finished for 18 months in a second-fill Pedro Ximénez cask. It is described as a classic old Speysider, with orchard fruit aromas and a scattering of rancio notes.
The nose brings peaches, fresh orange, green apples and strawberries, along with old library books and earthy liquorice. On the palate there is more nuttiness, with almond pastries, coffee beans and incense beside the fruit. The finish is long, with incense spice and marzipan.
