Glentauchers – 1989 30 Year Old Old & Rare Heritage Speyside Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 45.7%)

A single cask Speyside malt distilled at Glentauchers in 1989 and bottled thirty years later by Hunter Laing for its Old & Rare range. It is bottled at 45.7% in a 70cl bottle. The years in oak have added a background of spice and caramel, with the distillery's orchard and citrus fruit character on top and soft touches of green herbs. The whisky is golden. The nose offers apple crumble, caramel sauce, brown sugar and cinnamon. The palate is fruity, with oranges, honey, strawberry and green tea. The finish is long and powerful, with lingering pepper and spice.
