Glenturret – 1987 North Star 38 Year Old (70cl, 43.7%)

This Highlands single malt was distilled at Glenturret in 1987 and is 38 years old. North Star Spirits bottled it at 43.7% in a 70cl bottle. Glenturret calls itself the oldest distillery in Scotland, a claim that is not unlikely, since a distillery already stood on the present site in 1775. It has carried the Glenturret name since 1875. It lies outside Crieff on the River Turret and draws its water from Loch Turret. The distillery produces whisky for the Famous Grouse blend and puts that link firmly in the foreground.
