A 1979 Glenury Royal single malt from the Highlands, bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It is gold in colour.
The nose opens spirity and strongly oaky, then settles into tea and gooseberries before turning a little minty, with a long development of many small aromas. On the palate come fresh mint, white pepper and liquorice, with a good deal of marzipan and a rounded feel. The finish is long, the malt carrying on through olive oil and lemon seeds.
