Gold Bar America 250 is a blended American whiskey bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made at Gold Bar on Treasure Island in San Francisco, from a base whiskey with a mashbill of 88% corn, 9% rye and 3% barley.
The whiskey is finished in previously used French oak wine barrels from Napa Valley, which add berry fruit and rounded tannins.
Burnt sugar and honeyed grain open the nose, with orchard fruit and red berries. The palate is soft and lightly sweet, with honey, stone fruit, caramel and light baking spice, and a berry note and creamy texture from the wine barrels. The finish is medium, with vanilla, soft tannins and a little dried fruit.
