Hakushu 12 Year Old is a subtly peated single malt from Suntory's distillery in the forested Japanese Southern Alps, west of Tokyo. It is bottled at 43.5% abv in a 700ml bottle.
The nose brings pears, crushed bracken and a hint of citrus. On the palate the smoke comes through with ripe, plummy fruit and a crisp touch of lime, in a smooth, velvety texture. The finish is spicy and dry, elegant and understated.
