This is the 2024 Edition of Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt, a Japanese whisky from Suntory's Hakushu Distillery in the Japanese Alps. It is a limited edition in a 70cl bottle, matured for 18 years, with peat smoke set against fresh, crisp flavours.
The nose brings green apple, herbs and a little peat smoke, with citrus and mint. On the palate, smoky peat meets sweet honey and toasted oak, with hints of pear and spice. The finish is long and smoky, with a refreshing mineral note.
