Hakushu – 12 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky (75cl, 43.5%)

Hakushu 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Hakushu Distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, bottled at 43.5% ABV. The distillery was established in 1973 in the Southern Alps, at an elevation of 700 metres, and draws on soft alpine spring water. A portion of peated malt whisky goes into the blend, which adds light smoke and a herbal character to the spirit. The nose brings green apple, fresh mint, white peach, light smoke and cucumber. On the palate there is herbal freshness, gentle peat smoke, lime zest, vanilla and soft oak. The finish is clean and refreshing, with a lingering touch of light smoke.
