This is a 12 year old single malt from the Hakushu distillery, in a special design made for the centenary of Suntory Whisky. The illustration on the bottle shows the distillery in soft shades of green, standing for the forest around it.
The whisky is a selection of malts, all aged for at least 12 years in various casks. Hakushu sits high on Mt. Kaikomagatake, and its water is filtered through ancient granite. Peat is used, while the mountain water softens the palate.
The result is described as a fresh, gentle and lightly smoky malt.
