Hakushu 18 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from the Suntory family, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It spent a long maturation in American and European oak barrels. Hakushu Distillery was founded in 1973 by Keizo Saji, son of Suntory's founder, and stands at the foot of Mount Kaikomagatake in a preserved forest.
The nose shows ripe pear, fresh mint and oregano with a smoky touch. The palate brings mango and quince, with light jasmine and menthol. It finishes with a slight bitterness and lingering smoke.
