Hakushu – Distiller's Reserve (70cl)

Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is a no-age-statement Japanese single malt from the Hakushu distillery, in the foothills of Mount Kaikomagatake. It was made with water from the Southern Japanese Alps and was one of two Suntory releases in Spring 2014. The whisky brings together malts of a wide range of ages, drawn from the variety of casks used at the distillery. Both lightly peated and heavily peated malt went into it. It is described as green and fresh, gently smoky and herbaceous, with plenty of fruity flavour and a crisp, vibrant taste.
