Hakushu – Distiller's Reserve (70cl)

Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is a no-age-statement Japanese single malt, sold in a 70cl bottle. It was one of two Suntory releases in spring 2014. The whisky is a blend of malts of many ages from the range of casks used at the distillery, which sits in the foothills of Mount Kaikomagatake. Both lightly peated and heavily peated malts go into it, and the water comes from the Southern Japanese Alps. It is described as green, fresh and crunchy, gently smoky and herbaceous, with plenty of fruit and a crisp, vibrant taste.
