This is a 5 year old single barrel sweet mash bourbon from Hard Truth in Indiana. The mash bill is 99% corn and 1% malted barley, and the whiskey was aged in new charred American oak barrels before a finish in toasted Amburana, a Brazilian hardwood.
The Amburana is described as adding cinnamon, maple, honey and baking spices. It is bottled at 55.7% (111.4 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
The nose has coffee cake, vanilla and mocha. The palate starts with sweet maple and apple, building to cinnamon, honey and shortbread, and the finish brings baking spices with apple, tobacco and oak.
