This is a rye whiskey from Hard Truth Distilling Co., distilled and aged in Brown County, Indiana. It is made by a sweet mash process, using fresh mash for each distillation rather than backset from a previous batch, and matured in charred American oak barrels. It is bottled at 56.5% ABV, or 113 proof, in a 75cl bottle.
The nose brings rye spice, caramel, charred oak, vanilla and toasted grain. The palate is full-bodied, with black pepper, cinnamon, caramelised sugar, oak and a rich rye grain character. The finish is long and warming, with spice, vanilla and toasted wood.
