Hatozaki Small Batch is a Japanese whisky from the Kaikyo Distillery in Akashi, Hyogo, in a 750ml bottle at 46% ABV. It is an all-malt vatting with no grain whisky.
The whisky was aged for five to six years in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and Mizunara oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
Dried fruit, floral honey and baking spice on the nose come with a delicate hint of smoke. On the palate are ripe pear, toasted malt and sandalwood over light vanilla, and the finish brings soft oak, peppery spice and a whisper of incense.
