Hercynian Distilling (Hammerschmiede) – Heartgow Summer 2026 1st Fill Rye Whiskey & Malaga Moscatel Hogsheads Seasonal Collection (48%)

Heartgow Summer 2026 is a single malt from Hercynian Distilling in Walkenried, in the Harz, made from malted barley. It is part of the Seasonal Collection and was matured in first fill rye whiskey casks and Malaga Moscatel sherry hogsheads. Bottled at 48% in an edition of 384 bottles, it is unfiltered and has no added colour. The label carries floral motifs. The whisky is light amber. The nose shows ripe cherries and dried raisins over a gentle vanilla sweetness. On the palate come spicy rye bread notes and the honeyed texture of the Malaga cask, with star anise and a light orange bitterness. The finish is long, woody and spicy, with a touch of honey.
