Hibiki Blender's Choice is a Suntory blend made for the Japanese domestic market and bottled in the 24-faceted Hibiki bottle, a shape inspired by the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar.
The blenders drew on whiskies aged in a wide range of casks, including American oak, sherry and Mizunara, choosing each component for its character as well as its age.
The nose brings rose, lychee, raisin, fig and soft baking spices. The palate is smooth, with honeyed fruit, vanilla cream, cinnamon and a little sandalwood. The finish is lingering and balanced, with delicate smoke and a hint of oak.
