High Coast – Timmer (75cl, 48%)

High Coast Timmer is a Swedish single malt bottled at 48% in a 75cl bottle. It is the peated release in the distillery's four-expression Origins series, and its name is the Swedish word for timber, a nod to the logging heritage of Västernorrland. It is made from 100% peated malt, up to 46 ppm, and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and refill ex-bourbon quarter casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings campfire smoke and fresh-cut grass with pear, vanilla and garden herbs. The palate is bold, with charred oak, citrus, ginger, black pepper and a saline note, followed by a long, ashy finish with citrusy smoke.
