Hugh Hamer Double Oaked Bourbon (75cl, 51.5%)

Hugh Hamer Double Oaked Bourbon is an Indiana bourbon bottled at 51.5% in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled at the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg from a mashbill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley. The whiskey is first aged in new charred American oak barrels, then moved into a second barrel for further maturation. The nose brings charred oak, caramel and dark cherry, with leather, wintergreen and spicy dark chocolate beneath. The palate opens with caramel sweetness, then cinnamon and layered oak, with cherry, baking spice and a cool wintergreen note. The finish is long and warming, with molasses, vanilla and cinnamon, and a last echo of charred oak and cherry.
