Ichiro's Malt Chichibu On The Way 2015 (70cl, 55.5%)

On The Way is a Chichibu single malt from Japan, released in 2015 as part of Ichiro's Malt range. It is a vatting of three casks: two bourbon barrels and one Mizunara, the Japanese white oak. The Mizunara cask holds some of the oldest whisky made at the distillery. It was bottled at 55.5% and 9,900 bottles were released worldwide. The nose is of pear, malt and popcorn. Tropical notes come through on the palate, and the finish carries hints of pepper.
