This is the fourth edition of The Peated from Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery. It was distilled in 2012 from heavily peated malt and bottled at 54.5% ABV. A total of 6,700 bottles were released. The phenol level is 58.6ppm, higher than earlier releases at 52ppm. Most of the whisky was matured in ex-bourbon wood, with a smaller part from port pipes added on top. It is smoky and intense, with bold spice and sweetness and plenty of fruit.
