Ichiro's Malt Chichibu US Edition 2023 (70cl, 53.5%)

Ichiro's Malt Chichibu US Edition 2023 is a Japanese whisky made from 100% heavily peated single malts, bottled at 53.5% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 2640 bottles. It draws on a variety of casks: new Taransaud T5 French oak, Mizunara hogshead, sherry and chibidaru modified hogshead. The label shows US Commodore Matthew Perry enjoying a dram in Washington D.C., among the cherry blossom trees gifted in 1909 by former Tokyo Mayor Yukio Ozaki and chemist Dr. Jokichi Takamine. Orange peel, mint, loquat and melon lead to a rich, smoky palate and a nutty finish with black tea.
